We arrived in Vegas without much fanfare. T-Mobile EDGE and voice work just great (for some reason I was roaming with Cingular last year and didn't have any data while I was here, looks like that's fixed this time around).

The person that registered me for MIX08 (name redacted to protect the guilty party) signed me up as "Joe Dopp." Yeah, um, that's not my name, which caused problems trying to register. Luckily the registration desk was very helpful, looked me up by company, and even printed and laminated a new badge with my correct name. That's service.

From there we headed over to Treasure Island (from the Venetian) for our "Bring Silver to LIght" activity (we missed out on King of Kong Fistful of Quarters by doing so) and had a really fun time tracking down Silverlight related items, snapping pics with a provided camera, and returning to TI for the next step. That step was supposed to be integrating those pics/video clips into a Silverlight application, unfortunately the app didn't work, and they didn't hand out any prizes because "with all the good pictures it's going to take more time to determine who the winning team will be." So we wait.

Then it was back to Luxor. Here's how it works: you walk from Venetian to the Harrah's Station, hop on the Monorail (insert Springville citizenry singing the monorail song), take it all the way to the end, get off, walk though MGM Casino, across two sky bridges to Excalibur, take the tram to Mandalay Bay, get of, then take another tram back up to Luxor. Yeah, I'm not "sore" about that. Actually, I have blisters on the balls of my feet from it all, so I guess I am sore.

Anyhow, that's Day 0. We'll be getting up early tomorrow and heading back to Venetian for breakfast and then to the keynote. See you there!
